So is my sister-in-law who's a staunch Republican.It's an old mainline denomination just like the Methodists, Presbyterians, etc. Obama's church was called Trinity just like you have churches called Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. More on that Protestant denonimation here Harvard and Yale were founded by UCCs when they were still called Congregationalists. I think Riverside Church may be UCC but I may be wrong. Maybe they are Methodists. |
