Well, the ICJ done did it. Imagine how far-reaching this is going to be, eh?Countries supporting the decision: US, China, UK, France, Jordan, Japan, Slovakia, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, New Zealand, and Somalia. Countries opposed: Russia, Sierra Leone, and Morocco. As the report points out, because permanent members of the Security Council enjoy a veto of recognition, not much changes until Russia supports a new admission, at which point US/UK/France would block the admission that Russia sought unless and until Russia withdrew its opposition to Kosovo. Congrats to the UN for contributing to the death of world peace once more. You support Russia, then? |
