Effectively the Afghan war was lost at Tora Bora in December 2001, when the US failed in its original purpose to capture Osama bin Laden and the Al Qaeda leadershipThey were already in Iran long before the US went into Afghanistan. Fear of Iran seems to be pathological in both major parties. |
