Blocking the street to to put up garage sale signs isn't a crime. But blocking the street to hire someone looking for work is?Blocking the street to pick up a prostitute is a crime - so is blocking the street to buy drugs. The crime that they should go after is tax evasion. Call it "blocking the street to facilitate tax evasion". The real solution to ending illegal immigration is to treat it just like child porn. Make the illegal immigrants untouchable: 1. Any HR employee failing to obtain proper paperwork that results in the hiring of an illegal immigrant will go to jail for 5 years (taking orders from a boss will NOT be considered an excuse). The HR director will go to jail for 10 years and his company will pay a fine of $10,000 per day for every day the illegal was employed. 2. Any individual hiring an ilegal immigrant as a "handyman" or day labor will be fined $10,000 per day per worker. 3. Any landlord leasing a house or apartment to an illegal immigrant will be fined $10,000 per day for every day the illegal lives there 4. Any state or local government agency whose contractor or subcontractor hires an illegal will lose all federal funding for 10 years. Eliminate the demand and the problem will be SOLVED! |
