The cops would come, roust the tenant, and by the time the tenant got out of Central Booking, his/her stuff was piled up on the street, and the locks changed.And then we have the opposite extreme, where a tenant hasn't paid rent in 3 months, the landlord files for eviction which can take up to 6 months to occur, all in the tenant's favor, with the landlord then out of 9 months of rent, and once eviction occurs, the landlord has to "hold in storage" the tenants possessions for another month either in the apartment or in a storage unit at landlord expense. Out 10 months rent. And you find that fair? |
