MLB is actually stepping up their marketing and, I believe, starting to draw in more fans again. During the early to mid 1990s MLB was losing fans as the younger generation just didn't find it exciting. One of the best side effects of the "steroid era" is it got fans to watch and follow baseball again. Ever since 1998 (except for maybe last season) baseball had been breaking attendance records left and right and TV viewership was increasing.NFL will always be #1 in the USA. Why? The games are almost always a predictable 3 hours long (give or take a few minutes). Heck, when was the last time you were at a bar on Sunday morning (or afternoon) and noticed that all of the early games (or late games) didn't end at approximately the same time. They almost always end at the same time no matter where they are. Baseball, well, it doesn't work that way. |
