More sports fans than not would agree with you. One of the NFL's claim to fame is that it doesn't really matter too much who is playing. People watch Sunday night football, Monday night, regardless of who's playing. Other sports get some of that, but not nearly on the same level as football. Probably has to do with how few home team games there are.That's not true. Who is playing is perhaps the most important aspect. For example, the Vikings vs. Packers on MNF did record setting numbers that no other matchup did. Some experts are saying that part of the reason the Super Bowl got such a huge rating has to do with all the attention paid to the commercials and half-time show. "Who had the best Super Bowl ad"?, is part of pop culture for sure. |
