Haha, The Raw Story aka The Left Story. I see they (and others) inserted a comma that should not be there, in between the words "civics" and "literacy". The other leftist sites (Democratic Underground, Think Progress, Media Matters, Arianna's website) are all on fire over the "civics literacy test"; and one of those sites did have a suggestion that I agree with (from the comments section), that politicians themselves ought to be subject to testing of their civics literacy.Besides, being tested on one's civics literacy can be dangerous, because one can have knowledge of the system while using said knowledge to subvert the system; therefore, you'd have far-rightists or far-leftists voting for candidates that would turn the country in a truly radical direction. |
