That's a very reasonable list for what you've experienced. What would you say would be the recognized leading areas in the US for those foods? How many would be NYC?I'd guess: Mexican- Various SW and Texas Italian- NY Steak- Texas or maybe KC Thai- No idea. Maybe LA. Ethiopian- DC Sushi- LA BBQ- Various southern places. KC sounds pretty good. Soul Food- Various southern places. Savannah, GA sounds as good as anywhere else Jamaican- NY Ocean Seafood- Hawaii or somewhere on the West Coast, incl maybe Alaska Fresh Water Seafood- ?? West African- DC Brazilian- No idea. NY sounds good Afghan- ?? Greek- Detroit Chinese- NY for American style; SF or LA for authentic style French- ?? Vietnamese- Little Saigo in Orange County, San Jose, and Houston Indian- NY sounds good Middle Eastern- Detroit Spanish- No idea. Miami? Peruvian- Miami? (We have lots in LA too) German- No idea. Boston/NY sound good. |
