Back in the VCR days (you'll get a kick out of this) we had tapes reserved for "one shot recordings" to be played back at convenience and then recycled ... instead of writing up a label, we cut these cheap "magic slate" things and glued them to the cassettes. You'd write with the stylus on the plastic top sheet and when the tape was watched, you'd rip the sheet up to empty it and it was ready to go again, over and over!  You probably had some when you were a kid, and all you needed was a paper slicer to cut them to size to fit on the edge of the tapes! |
