Kings Plaza started charging back around 1988 or so. They have a multi-level parking garage. Does Queens Center have a similar facility? I don't know of any malls with large open parking lots charging a fee. Didn't that crappy Albee Square mall also charge?I lived on a small 1-way street in Brooklyn. We had 4-day a week ASP until about 1980 when it dropped down to 2-day a week ASP. 4-days was overkill for a block of well-kept one and two family homes. Even 2-days was a pain in the ass but it was bearable. Our house had no garage but after a few years I was lucky enough to rent a neighbors garage for the small sum of $50/month until I moved out in 1990. |
