A similar statement made in 1994 was brought as evidence during her nomination hearings to the Court of Appeals before Republican Senators in 1997 and no one questioned her on it. She was confirmed with Republican support. And no, it doesn't mean more now that it's the Supreme Court she's being nominated to.So Obama's team can't claim it was some errant slip of the tongue and the Republicans need to withdraw their racist claim as they endorsed Sotomayor previously. your pal, Fred |
