How much Yiddish papers and theater are there outside of neighborhoods where they live? There's no large onslaught of neighborhoods like that. Sure it's popular in neighborhoods where they live (just like you had German Theater in the 1920's and 30's in German Neighborhoods), Italian theater in italian neighborhoods, etc).Um, the issue is proportionality. Relative to the size of the Yiddish-speaking population, Yiddish papers and theater have been just as successful as Spanish TV. |
