A fair percentage of the Mexican and Central American immigrants, in particular, have only a few years of formal education.A teacher friend of mine once mentioned that her high school in Huntington Park did a survey and found that the average education level of their students parents was either the 4th or 5th grade. I can't remember which, although it doesn't really matter at that level. |
