I get it. Years and years of watching an MSM or attending a college in which leftist principles go unchallenged.I don't watch television and the only two political science classes I've ever taken were both taught by another "converted" conservative, Fred Seigel. Try again. OTOH, conservatives have to learn to argue their positions well to shield themselves from said institutions who will pounce on the slightest hypocricy once it's presented. It's why conservatives sound smarter (well, just one reason anyway). It's why conservatives sound like drones who end up repeating the same argument almost verbatim, even when it doesn't come close to meshing with the truth. The arrogance and the hypocricy of the left are probably the two greatest reasons I converted to conservatism 14-15 years ago. The dysfunction and misanthropy of the right have been steadily turning me off to conservatism for the past ten years. I would have preferred McCain to Al Gore in 2000, or Colin Powell to Bill Clinton in 1996. |
