I wonder how much of that is self-inflicted? In LA for example law enforcement and courts refuse to cooperate so that ICE can arrest and deport criminals. So ICE has no way to easily detain criminals. The second option is to do all of the things that people are upset about. Self-inflicted.Yet in red states and purple cities I never hear about ICE using those same tactics. Is that because they don't need to because law enforcement and courts in those jurisdictions are cooperating with them? This is a significant cultural shift over the last couple of decades in the way that laws are enforced and how cooperation, or lack thereof, occurs. It started when Obama was President. |
