Didn’t the United Kingdom used to be the metropole of a great empire? The UK spent a phenomenal multiple of its GDP fighting World Wars I and II. And then it lost India. The downsizing that followed was not in the least surprising and has nothing to do with multiculturalism. I always wonder how Europe would have turned out if Kaiser Wilhelm hadn't been such a moron and had instead just told the Austrians that they'd humiliated Serbia enough and to cool it. |
