1. No ID required
Person must sign in. Signature is matched to what is on file. ID's, including photo ID's can be easily forged.

2. Zohran on the ballot twice in the top row
3. Eric Adams, who dropped out to avoid splitting the vote, still on the ballot
4. Cuomo in the bottom right corner, 2nd row"

Placement on ballot is dictated by state law. The official parties, those that received more than 50,000 votes in last gubernatorial election, appear in order of their vote total. The 4 official parties in order of their vote totals in 2022 are: Democratic, Republican, Conservative and Working Families.

Mamdani is the nominee of the Democratic and Working Families parties.

There is a deadline for removal from a ballot. Adams withdrawal came after this deadline. Thus, his name still appears on the ballot.

Cadidates who appear as a result of nominating petitions are placed in the order in which such petitions are received. Cuomo dithered, while Sliwa and Adams went right to work to secure a sufficient number of valid signatures on their petitions.

There's a limited amount of space on the paper ballot, which has size restrictions so that it can be read by mark sense readers. There are 9 candidates plus a space for a write-in for mayor. They could not all fit on a single line and still be legible. Thus, more than a single line must be used, when the single line threshold is exceeded.

What ever the outcome, ballot composition was according to established rules.
