That wasn't jet fuel, the jet fuel all burned or evaporated within seconds. The resulting fire continued to burn for MONTHS after the collapse. That was the smell, and it was much worse than burning jet fuel, which would have minimal health effects. Jet fuel is a hydrocarbon just like gasoline, just the carbon chains tend to be longer. The combustion byproducts are the same. |
