When the planes hit the north tower, ignited jet fuel spilled down the elevator shafts into the elevators as the elevators went into free fall having their cables cut. Those poor souls inside those elevators were incinerated. What a horrible way to go. Point being, the smell of jet fuel permeated the North Tower lobby via the elevator shafts. Just because jet fuel is ignited doesn't mean that there wont be any leftover jet fuel smell. |
