NYC survived w/o a Cross Brooklyn & Cross Manhattan expressways Somehow civilization as we know it would not have come to a grinding halt if the CBX wasn't built.What I dont get is that most of the crew that posts here are advocates/ fans/foameers etc. of mass transit and rail projects, and find it hard to criticize Robert Moses for consistently favoring roads over rails. Sure hes made many contributions to the quality of life in NYC, but simply put he got too much power and had to be taken down. There are many books out there that document the rise and fall of the great Robert Moses. |
