I'd argue that anti-Israel attitudes on the left have become more acceptable on account of the right's Israel-Palestine policy during the George W. Bush administration (i.e. a blank check for Israel) and then making mountains out of molehills, such as suggesting that Obama was a closeted Muslim on account of his middle name and therefore predisposed to being anti-Israel. This was further exacerbated by Bibi openly campaigning for Mitt Romney.Going further back, last time I checked, Harry Truman was a Democrat and he recognized the State of Israel minutes after its establishment. Meanwhile, there's plenty of actions by Republican administrations that would hardly be categorized as pro-Israel by contemporary "conservatives." There are plenty of examples from the first Bush administration, Reagan administration and Eisenhower administration. You should try taking off your partisan blinders on occasion. |
