It helps that the Dodgers beat the Yankees and actually win the World Series. After finally reaching the top after being underdogs for so long, I can see how the shock of having the team taken away from the fans at the team's peak would've been devastating.

It sure didn't help that the Polo Grounds had zero parking. A picture was posted on subchat, I think, that showed parked cars crowded on the streets above the stadium.
