They were a mediocre team at best. Its true they played in an ancient ballpark, but so did the Dodgers. Its been said when the Dodgers left for LA, it ripped the heart and soul out of Brooklyn. There was no such outcry when the Giants left. IIRC the last game the Giants played in the Polo Grounds, only a few thousand showed up.
Not much of a sendoff. Dont let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.
