An honest question: Why Gaza? |

Posted by shiznit1987 on Mon Apr 22 18:49:40 2024 So seeing these protests that are going on, there is something that keeps gnawing at me about those protesting the Gaza war:Many people bring up colonialism, settlements, and imperialism yet these same folks aren't enraged at Russia which is engaging in *actual* colonialism and expansion in Ukraine. They keep screaming about genocide while routinely ignoring actual cases of genocide happening now like Arabs killing Africans in Darfur, The Rohyinga in Myanmar or what the CCP is doing to Uyghrs in Xinjiang. We keep hearing about "innocent civilians" but innocent civilians keep being brutalized by cartels in places like Mexico and Ecuador. Why is Gaza the only place that warrants this kind of attention? Why is everything else being ignored? I just want someone who is sympathetic to these protests to explain that to me. |
