Re: IQ 83

How often is the scoring system "renormalized" to make the average score be 100? When one person takes an IQ test, they get a score that is based on their performance alone. The person scoring the test doesn't know how everyone else who took the test that day (or that week, month, year, etc.) did, they only know how the one person they are scoring did, and they give him or her a score based on that. But if it's true that the average score is always supposed to be 100, then the scoring system must be periodically updated to reflect that, and there should be a clear record of those updates. Is there? Does it show that people in general are getting smarter, meaning a higher level of achievement than before is needed to score 100? Or does it show the opposite, or neither? Or is there in fact no such agreed-upon record at all?
