Someone once described the work of a harbor pilot to me as "being able to get a fully laden cargo ship filled with all kinds of dangerous chemicals through a body of water that hasn't been properly dredged in 20 years, in the middle of the night, amidst the worst fog anyone living in the area can remember, and going out the next day to do it all over again."Trust me, they're worth every nickel they earn. |
