I'm even more extreme than you. I want statehood for all the Pacific islands that belong to us, including Guam, Wake, Midway, Samoa, the Marianas, Baker, Howland, Jarvis, Johnston, and Palmyra.

I also support a settlement of our disputed territories in the Caribbean, Bajo Nueva Bank and Serranilla Bank. In a negotiated agreement exchanging these islands for recurrent foreign aid with Colombia, they, too, could be granted statehood. (The US claims both islands under the 1879 Guano Islands Act, although the International Court of Justice awarded them to Colombia over Nicaragua in 2012. The US was not party to that case, nor do we recognize the ICJ's authority.)

If you are an American citizen by virtue of being born on any of these islands, then you deserve the full political representation that comes with statehood. Territorial administration amounts to "citizenship lite", which should not be in a democratic republic such as ours.
