Christine Quinn has actually declared her intent to run.

I know Christine, served on her LGBTQ Steering Committee when she was in the City Council.

However, she undermined her own political future on two key issues:

She allowed the demolition of St. Vincent's Hospital in her own district to proceed, in spite of loud and repeated community opposition. As a result, today there is no Level I trauma center south of 59th Street on the West Side of Manhattan.

DeBlasio beat Quinn at her own game during the 2013 primaries, getting more of the LGBTQ vote than she did. That was her core constituency.

If she wants to run successfully this time around, Quinn needs to pay closer attention to things like these.
