The minute the moratorium on rents went into effect landlords knew they were doomed. Every dollar that would have been “squirreled away” for rent found a million others places to be spent, or simply not earned. If folks knew from day one that they HAD to pay the rent or not have a home believe me the rent would have been paid and we wouldn’t have this latest eviction crisis. The landlords, with bills of their own to pay, were chosen as the soft touch patsies. |
