As others have said, Arbeit macht frei is what greeted the Jews and many others upon the arrival at Nazi concentration camps where they ultimately were "set free" when they died as a result of laboring under inhumane conditions or were murdered.I didn't think you necessarily saw the sign yourself, but the reality is that many people at these rallies to open up the economy are allying themselves with neo-Nazis and other reprehensible movements (what "heritage" does someone celebrate by bringing a Confederate flag to a rally in Michigan?). I'd assume that woman is an anti-Semite (the only other option is a total ignoramus), especially since J. B. Pritzker is Jewish. You've either willfully ignored this reality or are unable to reconcile with it. I felt it necessary to call that out. |
