On 4/26/2009 the US declared a public health emergency.The first case of covid-19 was detected in the US on 1/20/2020. On 1/30/2020, Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross noted that the virus was an opportunity for the US to regain manufacturing jobs previously lost to China. On 1/31/2020, the US declared a public health emergency. We will be incredibly lucky if covid-19 only results in 18,000 deaths in the US. |
