A definition of "kill" is "to commit murder."

But it's not the only definition. Therefore it is not incorrect to say that Zimmerman killed Martin.

If you are driving along totally legally and soberly and a child runs in front of your car and gets killed, you are still a child killer without your having committed any crime whatsoever.
