That's becoming correct.
As part of the Moral Foundations Theory.

The Cliff's notes - the theory is based on 5 (or 6) principles: Care, Fairness, Loyalty, Authority, Sanctity, (and liberty).

Relevant passage, emphasis mine:
Researchers have found that people's sensitivities to the five/six moral foundations correlate with their political ideologies. Using the Moral Foundations Questionnaire, Haidt and Graham found that libertarians are most sensitive to the proposed Liberty foundation, liberals are most sensitive to the Care and Fairness foundations, while conservatives are equally sensitive to all five/six foundations.

Care, Fairness, and Sanctity are lead more by emotion, while Loyalty and Authority are lead more by rationality. By authority they mean something like - a lawyer is an authority on legal matters, a doctor is an authority on medical matters, an economist is an authority on economic matters, while an actor or musician is not typically an authority on any of those topics.

I would opine that stating liberals are more emotional and conservatives are more rational is a fair take.
