I forget the site but I remember seeing the set routes used in NYC when the airports have certain runways in use for arrivals and others for departures. Your arrival route into 22R had to avoid LGA traffic (its departures and its arrivals and its arrivals' missed approach path) amongst other things. Deer Park is a common fix relevant to the route.

Just landed on 4R from a transatlantic. Came in over Providence, then the North Fork, diagonally crossed Long Island and ended up along the coast of New Jersey before finally turning around for the landing. It's dragging out the agony after such a long flight but that's the way it goes.

It would be cool to get a better view of the skyline after coming in from the sea but there's not much chance as transatlantic flights don't land at LGA, yet.
