Foerster wasn't actually killed by Shakur, who actually fired no shots at all during the gunfight. Foerster was killed by Sundiata Acoli, whose bullets were found in the trooper's body.Shakur sustained a gunshot wound from Foerster's gun, but had six of the charges from the gun battle either dismissed or acquitted. I've always felt that the "in for a penny, in for a pound" legal doctrine under which Shakur was convicted, lends itself to high-profile cases like this, in which an actor playing a minor role is just as culpable as one who plays a major role. Why charge murder when it is known that Shakur fired no shots at all? |
