Per Chief of Staff Kelly

“To be honest, it’s not a wall,” Mr. Kelly told The Los Angeles Times.

And then we have:

“There may be a wall at some places, there may be steel slats, there may be technological enhancements,” Conway said. “But always saying ‘wall’ or ‘no wall’ is being very disingenuous and turning a complete blind eye to what is a crisis at the border when it comes to the drugs pouring in.”

So if Trump just wants improved border security, he should say so and everyone can negotiate exactly how much funding to put in.

But instead he lied for 2 years to amp up his base.
