I agree with you that most of the visible homeless are mentally ill, addicted, or both. Those are the people living on the street, sleeping in boxes or tents that are unable to care for themselves. But if you add people couch surfing, people in shelters, RV’s etc then the statistics may change. In LA lots of those people actually have jobs.
