I left Elmont for upstate to attend art school. I met Selkirk upstate. He had escaped the Bronx, because, well, the Bronx. (Yes, having been shot did figure into it, but there was a lot more than just that to it)Nothing racist about any of it. Plus, you're in Florida. You're not in Queens. You don't even have a job. I'm comfortably retired. I hike and kayak and practice yoga, play tennis and in winter snowshoe mountains and fence. What are you doing with yourself beyond being miserable, hating everyone and everything? Why won't you take your life into your own control and do something about it beyond blaming everyone else for the fact that you're getting older? Given all that's happened, I'm beginning to enjoy my life, imperfect as it is. |
