Did the victim somehow "disrespect" his attacker aboard the train?

Notice the straphanger who sees the beatdown, but calmly minds his own business and walks away. That's quintessential New York, right there.

If the attacker was a cop, the usual suspects here would say, "the video doesn't tell the whole story". Then again, a white guy in a business suit...hmmm...cop, or goon?
