Is anyone looking for substantial food at a service plaza?

When you're on a road with long distances between the exits like on American toll roads or European motorways, then you're more inclined to stop and eat "real food" versus on highways where exits are close together, and the frequency of restaurants is higher. When there's an Denny's every few exits, you won't miss service plazas as much. When the next exit is 20 miles away, and you want food "now", then you may put up with what the service area provides.

FWIW, in some European countries, there are also hotels at the service areas.
