Is anyone looking for substantial food at a service plaza?I remember the last time I stopped at a HoJo's on the Thruway in the 1980's shortly before the service plazas were converted to fast food. I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to spend the time eating a (lousy) sit-down meal with table service on a road trip. I usually just want to refuel myself and my car and get going again. I usually look for a Subway, Wawa's or Sheetz - type place when I'm traveling. I do have a favorite restaurant on my most frequent road trip. But no one is going to replicate that at every rest stop. |
