The shutting down of the transit infrastructure was a costly event. I've seen estimates of it's effect on the area economy of $200 million for the 12 hour shutdown. There are so many facets to this issue that looking at one or two and deciding that it was a good move or bad move make equally little sense. My feeling is that you have a structure in place where each line has a management team and those teams should have made the calls for their individual line while coordinating with the Rail Control Center and Senior management. |
