Posted by ntrainride on Sat Jan 24 16:56:05 2015, in response to Re: I'm sick of not seeing ''skyscrapers'' in Nassau/Suffolk, posted by gp38/r42 chris on Thu Jan 22 06:38:09 2015. if you mean that it wasn't built near a train station, i agree, although hempstead turnpike does have decent bus service. beyond that, i see nothing wrong with those buildings. long island could use more of that scale of office buildings. it's not the rural landscape of 70 years ago. no more potato fields left to build on. and while my "dream" of highrise buildings may not be happening yet (but look at white plains or stamford...they seem to be able to handle it), the lower scale, brooklyn-type building is what's up now. look at what's happening ib bay shore, patchogue, even, lord help us, wyandanch. like it or not, this is the future of development on long island:New Village, Patchogue: |
