Supporting the Republic Party is bad enough— Chimmy, at least, supports dedicated neo-Nazi/antisemitic groups because hey, if they hate black people too they can't be all bad, right?"Never again" was wishful thinking from the start— people who personally survived the Holocaust went on to demand the ethnic cleansing of Palestine just a few short decades later. If someone can survive the most well-known atrocity in modern history and declare: "It's an unforgivable abomination that they did it to me instead of that guy over there who deserves it," then humanity is doomed. Still, there is an upside to this whole thing— Hunt for Haralakof (or whatever; I'm not good with titles), the book that Nilet Railroad originally came from, is unlikely to ever be finished— I hit a roadblock (or rather, a writer's block) about a decade ago, then got sidetracked by my day job, and now I've moved on to writing other things that don't involve many trains, so I figured Detterak and its many inhabitants (and Nilet Railroad) would never see the light of day in any forum. Sure, I used "Nilet" as my handle, but actually posting bits and pieces here? Especially in the "name" of Nilet Railroad? What would people think? Then I had a few "debates" with Train Dude and Bill Brooklyn and GP Chris and I realised— they aren't actually people at all! They're a species of inbred slime trolls with lungs growing out of their backs and racism instead of legs. So I don't actually care what they think— people seem more or less OK with it and they certainly don't count. |
