The suspect is said to have killed his girlfriend in Baltimore this morning, before coming to NYC this afternoon to "put wings on pigs", as he posted on Instagram. He specifically referred to the Garner case as a motive, and killed himself just as pursuing cops were about to engage him.

I would strongly suggest that the killer's earlier homicide points to his severely deranged state of mind.
