And just to reinforce: New York was one of the last states to end the use of the old clunkers in favor of electronic voting under federal law after extensive testing of everything out there. We had the opportunity to possibly accept newer designs on that basis. In the end, not a single touchscreen passed muster and so the state decided to go with paper ballots and scanners. |
