They thought -- rightly -- that it would poison the possibility of passing any health care reform.

Single payer is synonymous with health care reform. They were worried that supporting health care reform would "poison" the chance of passing health care reform?

Come on, they had complete control of government. If they wanted something passed, they'd have passed it.

Right - so use the exchanges. It's not very hard to do.

Thus far, it's been impossible to do. Besides, it's not like the exchanges will offer any decent plans.

Very. It covers almost the same as my good employer-provided insurance.

That's not really saying much.

My dad is some big-time executive and lobbyist and his insurance is barely any better than mine.

There are higher deductibles and co-pays, but the price is right and it covers most conditions, including pre-existing, thanks to Obamacare.

I'm inclined to doubt it would cover the conditions I currently have.

The network is smaller, but they found very good doctors in the network.

What kind of doctors? Because for me, the "network" contains zero doctors. Period. Not with my current insurance, not with my old insurance, not even with my dad's insurance before I turned 26.

You really need to get on the exchanges next month and look hard for a good policy. It is there.

I found one just across the border in Quebec but they didn't let me use it. :(

South of the border, "good policy" is about as easy to find as antihydrogen— it technically exists but you'd never be able to afford it.
