That the temperature hasn't gone up consistently year in and year out doesn't mean that global warming has stopped, even temporarily. 1998 was only 16 years ago— not enough time for the average temperature to exceed what used to be an extreme outlier.The graph means no more and no less than that global warming has paused for 16 years. It certainly doesn't mean that it has stopped permanently, and I never said that. But it does mean it has stopped for 16 years. |
