Fair deal then ... MOST of the folks I know never changed a bit. They still believe what they believed in years ago and still participate in their community. I do know maybe three or four people who used to be right wing that think the right wing is full of shit, but they haven't gone loony, they've just given up on politics altogether and like the rest of us here, just take care of each other and to hell with the politicians.Maybe things are different in the "big city" where you apparently depend on politics to get stuff done. Out here in the sticks, we all learned a LONG time ago that the only ones who are going to take care of us is each other and that's what we put our efforts into. In all seriousness, I pick the political fights I do here with the righties because their whole trip sounds exactly like listening to hippies years ago. Out where I am, the politicians don't come anywhere near us and we'd probably shoot their asses if they did. Politics buys you absolutely nothing out here where the cows are in charge. :) |
